IIG Bank (Malta) Ltd, established in 2010, is a licensed banking institution regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority. The bank's principal activity is international trade finance and trade services.

The Bank is currently looking to recruit an Junior IT Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role
The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to be part of the IT team at the Bank and will report to the IT Manager. The candidate will be responsible for installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and printers; monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; and responding promptly to daily applications tasks, issues, and requests. This role offers valuable learning experience, allowing the candidate to gain experience working in the IT department of a financial institution.

Main responsibilities:

  • Hardware and software administration and support: The candidate will be expected to provide first-line IT support to the employees of the Bank. Issues requiring escalation will be addressed with our third-party service providers as needed.

  • Infrastructure administration and support: The candidate is expected to administer and support the IT infrastructure of the Bank in conjunction with our third-party service providers.

  • Windows Server administration, including Active Directory.

  • Microsoft Entra ID and MS365 administration.

  • Perform the daily health checks of applications and infrastructure.

  • Support of core banking applications (internal training will be provided):

  • The candidate is expected to:

    • Communicate with the support team of the service provider regarding any issues reported by business users.

    • Install any fixes or updates as required.

    • Perform daily application-related tasks including the close of business.




Requirements:

  • Minimum - Advanced level standard of education in IT.

  • While not a prerequisite, experience in a similar role and / or familiarity with any of the following will be considered an asset. Internal training will be provided as needed.

    • Knowledge of 3CX, including maintaining users and provisioning devices.

    • Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware.

    • Microsoft SQL database management.

    • SQL Scripting.



  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills in English.

  • Good organizational and leadership skills.

  • Self-motivated and the ability to learn a variety of job descriptions.

  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
