Job Description

The Kitchen Supervisor must be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff in order to ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness and make sure that food preparation areas, kitchen areas and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • Ensure that kitchen is restocked for subsequent shifts
  • Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to the corporate dress code
  • Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain accurate food inventories
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures
  • Train the kitchen staff in order to achieve best results at all times
  • Use specific kitchen machinery to create customized hot and tasty food items to our customers’ preferences
  • Work together with the kitchen team to prepare foods such as burgers, nibbles and salads while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements

Qualifications and Assets:

  • At least three years’ experience as a Kitchen Supervisor
  • Ability to stand for long hours at a time and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work on a shift basis including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • Leadership skills
