Pharmacy Assistant

Honest Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers flexible hours with a primary focus on providing support in our south area locations.

The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a basic understanding of pharmacy products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support to Pharmacy Team:
  
  
  
  • Assisting the pharmacy staff with administrative tasks as needed.
  
  
  • Supporting the Pharmacy team in preparing orders and prescriptions.
  
  
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager to ensure efficient operation of the pharmacy.
  
  
  
  


• Compliance and Safety:
  
  
  
  • Adhering to all pharmacy protocols, procedures, and regulations.
  
  
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
  
  
  • Reporting any discrepancies or issues to the Pharmacy Manager.
  
  
  
  


• Inventory Management:
  
  
  
  • Assisting in receiving, unpacking, and organizing stock deliveries.
  
  
  • Ensuring shelves are fully stocked, organized, and clean.
  
  
  • Monitoring inventory levels and inform the Managing Pharmacist and Deputy Pharmacist of low-stock items.
  
  
  
  


• Customer Service:
  
  
  
  • Greeting customers warmly and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  
  
  • Assisting customers in locating products and providing information on their use.
  
  
  • Handling customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
  
  
  
  


• Product Knowledge:
  
  
  
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of pharmacy products and services.
  
  
  • Advising customers on over-the-counter medications, health and beauty products, and other pharmacy items.
  
  
  • Staying updated on new products and industry trends.
  
  
  
  

Sales and Transactions:

• Operating the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.


• Processing sales efficiently and ensuring that all transactions are recorded correctly.


• Promoting pharmacy products and special offers to customers.


• Merchandising:


• Arranging and displaying products to promote sales and enhance the customer experience.


• Implementing merchandising plans and promotional displays as directed by the pharmacy manager.

Clinics:

• Ensuring that all clinics are clean, clear and equipped with the following:
  
  
  
  • Couch roll.
  
  
  • Soap.
  
  
  • Sanitiser gel.
  
  
  • Paper towels.
  
  
  • Sharps bins.
  
  
  • Any other items that would have been requested by the specialist.
  
  
  • Clean dustbin.
