Job Description

Hilton Malta Hotel is seeking to recruit a full-time Assistant Night Manager to complement the Front Office team.

Under the direction of the Front Office Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, and the supervision of the Night Manager, the Assistant Night Manager will operate and ensure the hotel end-of-day closure.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, and audit information to hotel departments
  • Ensure that all guest complaints are dealt with promptly and followed up on
  • Represent the Night Manager and other senior managers in their absence, taking full responsibility for the hotel
  • Have a good knowledge of all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these if required to do
  • Represent the Night Manager
  • Ensure regular and VIP Guests are recognised and that the Front Office department operates with a sales attitude and promotes the hotel brand’s loyalty scheme
  • Maximise room occupancy at the best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
  • Understand and demonstrate correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards, and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
  • Maintain good communication and working relationships with all hotel departments
  • Compile adequate handover for early team members / Duty Manager
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy
  • Provide training and be responsible for the development of the Night team / Night Auditors

  • Previous supervisory experience within the Front Office department
  • A pleasant personality and a passion for customer service, who can anticipate guests’ needs
  • Possession of strong decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent use of computer applications, including proficiency in using a property management system – preferably OPERA or OnQ experience
  • Calm, efficient, and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent numerical ability
