Job overview
The Junior Legal Counsel will support the legal team by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts while ensuring compliance with gaming laws and regulations.

They will assist in identifying legal risks, drafting policies, and promoting a culture of compliance across the organization, with opportunities for growth within the legal and compliance team.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts
  • Provide legal advice on various legal and regulatory matters pertaining to gaming operations and services within the group, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including but not limited to AML, Responsible Gambling, Fraud, Data and Consumer protection
  • Keep abreast with gaming laws, regulations, guidelines and industry standards
  • Liaise with regulators and relevant authorities, consultants, external advisors and other stakeholders
  • Assisting with the identification and mitigation of legal and compliance risks and exposure
  • Draft reports and carry out presentations to the senior management
  • Draft and review policies and procedures
  • Provide legal input on policy matters and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Promoting a culture of compliance within the organization
  • Assisting with any additional tasks according to the business needs

You’ll need to have

  • Law degree from a recognized university in an EU member state
  • A minimum of 1-2+ years PQE as a lawyer with exposure to the i-gaming industry
  • Solid understanding of gaming legislation and licensing and compliance requirements and frameworks
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, with any additional languages considered a plus
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical thinking and having an eye for detail
  • Proactive and self-motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and under minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both alone and in a team
  • Conversant with document and project management software and tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs, DocuSign etc.
