Job Description

Giuseppi’s restaurant is one of Malta’s longest established restaurants, with Chef-Patron Michael Diacono running the kitchen for over 20 years.

The restaurant has established itself to be one of Malta’s premier bar and bistros, with an innovative cocktail and food menu.

We are currently looking to recruit Bartenders: a team of hard-working individuals with a passion for high-quality food and beverage and outstanding customer service.

The daily role would include:

  • Preparing of mixed beverages and cocktails in a timely and presentable manner
  • Welcoming and serving guests to the bar / restaurant
  • Advising guests of any specials and assisting with beverage selection
  • Consistent monitoring of beverage and service standards
  • Handling guest complaints
  • Suggesting beverages to the guest and also try to upsell
  • Taking beverage orders from the guest on the handheld point of sale (POS) system
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Filling in for absent staff as needed
  • Communicating to the guest and providing assistance with their queries
  • Serving beverages to the guest as per the course of order
  • Observing guests and ensuring their satisfaction with the beverages and service
  • Promptly responding to guest with any additional request
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
  • Preparing mixed drinks for service to your customers table
  • Properly opening and pouring wine at the tableside
  • Adhering to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Understanding and communicating products and services available
  • Daily stocking up of fridges and bars
  • Accepting, checking, and storing of deliveries
  • Preparation of syrups and all items needed for cocktails
  • Service of drinks to the pool
  • Cleaning of bar after every service
  • Any other duties as deemed suitable by the Director and Supervisor

Requirements for all staff:

  • Fluent in English
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A passion for food, beverage and excellent customer service with an eye for detail
