Job Description
We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead and coordinate the aviation security activities at the Malta International Aiport (MIA), providing overall direction and coordination of security services according to clients’ needs and contractual obligations and in line with G4S Security Standards. The person shall maintain a constant, healthy business relationship with the client whilst leading and overseeing personnel involved in maintaining aviation security.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating all aviation security operations related to MIA.
- Planning and rostering of personnel from end to end.
- Monitoring and delivery of KPI’s in line with the set objectives of the Company.
- Leading the Security Aviation team, providing the right coaching, direction and motivation.
- Maintaining employee performance and productivity at optimum levels.
- Ensuring adequate supply of personnel in line with client requirements and exigencies.
- Identifying professional development needs and follows up on their progression.
- Implementation of health and safety protocols within assigned department/s.
- Abiding by standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working instructions.
- Implementing policies, procedures and standards to ensure smooth operations.
- Identifing avenues to meet prospective and existing customer demands.
- Resolving problems and handling performance issues.
- Developing and maintaining a strong work ethic with all G4S personnel.
- Liaises with the G4S leadership team on matters of policy formulation and planning.
- Actions all incident reports and follows up with the client.
- Conducting regular inspections 24/7 to ensure quality throughout.
- Managing, leading and / or supporting new projects as required.
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned from time to time by line or senior management.
Ideal Requirements
- Previous experience in operations management, preferably within the security industry.
- Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trust based relationships with the client, colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
- Good IT skills with a working knowledge of MS Office packages.
- Sound judgment and decision making skills, with a hands on, problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of demanding situations.
- Experience in duty planning and rosters to meet client demands.
- Knowledgeable on principles of security, employee safety and employee relations.
