Accounts Officer

Food Chain Ltd operates 20 stores in total across Malta for Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC and Boost. A vacancy has arisen within our Finance department for an Accounts Officer.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Assign expenses to the appropriate cost centre.


• Issuing payments to foreign suppliers.


• Carrying out bank reconciliations.


• Carrying intercompany reconciliations.


• Investigating variances between actual and budgeted / estimated results.


• Ensuring that the fixed assets register is up to date and reconciling with the relevant asset control accounts.


• Assisting in the VAT return process and in the submission of data required by the NSO department.


• Review receipts closed as complimentary, voids and bring to the attention of the Finance Manager any irregular, unexplained or unauthorised voids.


• Participate and assist in the annual financial audit preparation.


• Monitoring and assessment of internal control systems.

Educational and skill requirements

• A' level standard of education in Accountancy.


• Experience working in an accounting environment.


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.


• Strong communication skills.


• Good eye for detail and organised.


• Able to work alone and on own initiative as well as in a team.


• Be flexible and have a practical approach.
