We are currently seeking a Social Worker to join our team.
Requirements
The Social Worker is to carry out the standard social work practice to the highest performance standards and in the best interest of the residents. He/She shall liaise with the rest of the multi-disciplinary team and other professionals and contribute to services development.

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
- Fluency in both Maltese and English (written and spoken).
- Social Work students in their final year of studies are also encouraged to apply.
- Part-time positions will also be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities
- In relation to the residents
- Ensures that residents are served with the highest professional standard of social work practice through accurate assessments, professional and timely interventions and follow-ups.
- Prepares care plans / action plans in consultation and agreement with the residents and under the guidance of the Coordinator.
- All caseloads assigned must be planned within the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintains up-to-date case records and complies with administrative requirements as defined by the Foundation’s policy and procedures.
- Participates in case conferences and case reviews to ensure a holistic and integrated action.
- Networks with organizations, significant individuals and other resources to enable the residents to achieve a sustainable and good quality of life.
- Promotes and encourages community-based resources and initiatives which can complement the Foundation’s service to residents.
- Takes decisions in accordance with established policy and procedures.
- Takes decisions, particularly those, which have a significant effect on the residents, in consultation with the Coordinator.
- Receives regular clinical supervision and administrative supervision in line with the Foundation’s supervision policy.
- In relation to the team
- Respect and supports one’s colleagues in a professional manner.
- Actively participates and collaborates in team meetings, efforts and decisions.
- Upholds the professional integrity of one’s colleagues and leaders.
- Actively participates in regular supervision sessions individually as well as in a group with other colleagues.
- Actively participates in programmes for career development organized by the Foundation as well as through private study initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislations, resources, policies and social service developments.
- To be actively involved and participate in an on-call system.
- In relation to management
- Gives feedback and suggests solutions to the Management regarding the service provided in the specific area and on measures that may be taken to improve or expand the service.
- Participates in meetings for policy and progress reviews on professional issues, and in implementing the agreed action when required and in liaison with the Management.
- Represents the Foundation in inter-disciplinary meetings with other agencies, and acts on the directives given in consultation with the General Manager.
