Join our Maintenance team at db Group as we seek a dedicated Kitchen Equipment Technician.

Position Summary
The Kitchen Equipment Technician will play a vital role in maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing a diverse range of electric and gas commercial kitchen equipment and appliances. Responsibilities will include the installation of new equipment, leak repairs, settings maintenance on wiring controls, and replacement of outdated or defective components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance across a variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including walk-in freezers, industrial steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers.

  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing of equipment.

  • Utilise the work order management system to locate, accept, and complete maintenance requests.

  • Install new equipment, repair leaks, and ensure proper settings of wiring controls.

  • Replace old or defective equipment parts as necessary.

  • Collaborate with fellow maintenance staff, management, and other personnel to effectively resolve maintenance issues.

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls related to equipment repairs, including after-hours requests.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Exceptional soldering and brazing skills, with proficiency in using oxygen and propane.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and follow operational and installation manuals to complete tasks effectively.

  • Proficient in the safe and efficient application of various types of equipment.

  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks for improved job efficiency.

  • Capability to effectively diagnose issues with food equipment, identify problems, and implement solutions.

  • Refrigerant transition and recovery certification is required.

  • Solid understanding of basic electrical practices, theories, and safety protocols.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial refrigeration principles and practices.


About You:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

  • Good keyboarding and basic computer skills are essential.

  • Familiarity with plumbing repair and installation procedures.

  • Ability to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions effectively.

  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and take ownership of assigned repair tasks.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
