Overview
The Flight Reservations Specialist will manage all back-office responsibilities related to flight bookings for our clients, with a particular focus on group bookings. The ideal candidate possesses an analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and expertise in airline reservation systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage group flight bookings ensuring optimal itineraries and rates while liaising with airlines for group rates and concessions;
- Navigate and utilize various airline reservation systems efficiently to check availability, request and secure the best deals, book flights, maintain deadlines for release dates, payments, name insertions, ticketing, check-ins and booking any special requirements;
- Maintain detailed records of all flight bookings, ensuring accuracy and providing regular updates and reports to senior management;
- Proactively manage flight changes, cancellations, or rescheduling as required by clients or resulting from airline adjustments;
- Consistently update knowledge pertaining to airline policies, group offers, global travel events, and potential flight disruptions;
- Collaborate with other back-office teams to ensure integrated travel solutions, sharing data, and insights as necessary; and
- Efficiently address any issues or discrepancies related to flight bookings or reservations, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in flight booking or travel consultant roles, with an emphasis on group bookings;
- Proficiency in using airline reservation systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, or similar;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
- Calm under pressure;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Fluent in written and spoken English; and
- The ability to work long hours and on weekends on ad hoc occasions.
