Tenders & Proposals Engineer

BAVA Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Tenders and Proposals Engineer who will be responsible for the preparation, submission, and follow-up of tender documents and proposals for construction projects. This role involves closely working with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and suppliers to ensure that proposals meet client specifications and are submitted within deadlines. The individual will analyse tender requirements, coordinate with stakeholders for technical and financial inputs, and ensure the competitiveness and compliance of bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.


• Submit tender queries.


• Coordinate with technical teams to gather necessary information and ensure accurate and competitive bid proposals.


• Prepare tender documents, including technical proposals, project schedules, cost estimates, and method statements.


• Develop and prepare detailed estimates and bills for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.


• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and include relevant costs in the proposals. Review subcontractor quotes and proposals to ensure all costs are captured in final estimates and bills.


• Ensure compliance with both internal and external procedural requirements during the tender preparation process.


• Manage the tender submission process, ensuring that all bids are submitted on time and in the required format.


• Follow up on submitted tenders, addressing any client queries and providing additional information as needed.


• Maintain a database of past tenders, proposals, and relevant documentation for future reference.


• Work with the project management and engineering teams to hand over successful bids for project execution.


• Keep up to date with the local market.


• The position may require both office and fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tendering, proposals, or project management within the construction industry or related industry.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and project management processes.


• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex documents and specifications.


• Proficiency in cost estimation and project scheduling.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and persuasive tender documents.


• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tender management software.


• Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with stakeholders from various departments.


• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
