Diploma in Computing-Y1 (First year of a 3 year degree)

The STC Education three-year Computing framework of study includes:

• First year: NCC Diploma in Computing (MQF Level 5)
• Second year: University of Wolverhampton (MQF Level 5)

- BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity or
- BSc (Hons) Computer Science or
- BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Games Development)

• Third year: University of Wolverhampton (MQF Level 6)

- BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity or
- BSc (Hons) Computer Science or
- BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Games Development)

Students who complete the first year of the degree qualification usually gain direct entry to the 2nd year of a BSc (Hons) degree in Computing with the University of Wolverhampton.

Prerequisites

For Year One, students must have at least one of the following:

• Six O’ Levels including Mathematics, English, and any other four subjects AND at least one A’ Level in the area or equivalent OR
• The NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing OR
• NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies qualification (L3IFDHES) OR
• International Baccalaureate Diploma Certificate

If a potential student’s first language is not English, they must also reach the English Language requirements of either:

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 5.5 or
• Matsec or GCE ‘O’ Level

Mature students over the age of 21, are considered on an individual basis and do not necessarily have to meet the above requirements

Part-Time Schedule

• Start: Tuesday, September 17th, 2024
• End: Wednesday, October 14th, 2026
• Lectures: Tuesday and Thursday
• Lecture Time: 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm

Part-Time Duration: 2 Years / Option to fast track in 1 year

This provides STC students, who start their journey at STC studying for an NCC Education diploma in Business or Computing, with direct progression routes to degrees under one roof. This partnership opens up a number of new opportunities for students who are located in Malta and are interested in pursuing a degree in Business or Computing. Students who opt for a Business Management degree can opt to specialize in Marketing or Human Resources. The Computing degrees offer students the possibility to choose between Cybersecurity or Computer Science, with the possibility of specialising in Games Development*.
