Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accounting with Management and Analytics

The overall Bachelor of Science. (Honours) in Accounting with Management and Analytics is a Level 6 qualification of 180 ECTS that addresses the content typically studied for the ACCA and additionally addresses gaps in competencies that are extremely important for professionals who aspire to managerial careers in finance. These include areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, FinTech, and Business Management.

In the first year, focus is placed on providing students with a solid foundation for studying Accounting, Management and Analytics. Students will be exposed to fundamental principles across core disciplines in accounting, finance, management, and economics. In addition to the core units, students will undertake study units from the areas of FinTech (Introduction to Financial Technologies and International Financial Markets and Institutions) Artificial Intelligence (Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) and Business Management (Human Resources Development and Management).

The second year builds on principles learnt in the first year and delves deeper into aspects of taxation, performance management, audit and assurance. Emphasis is placed on developing the students’ transferable skills strengthening their analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Students will undertake study units in the area of Artificial Intelligence (Business Analytics). The final year consolidates on the first two years of the programme. Students will have an opportunity to further develop their critical skills and deepen their knowledge of complex issues in accounting, management, and analytics. Beyond the core units, students will undertake a project and hence get the opportunity to focus on a particular area that is of interest to them by choosing from an evolving range of accounting, management, and analytics units.

Through their study, students will also acquire more advanced quantitative and qualitative skills. The structure of this qualification is such that students will acquire MFHEA-accredited qualifications at diploma/higher diploma/degree level (depending on the modules they study) while providing the students with the opportunity to independently sit for ACCA examinations if they so wish.
