Introduction
A study programme which introduces the duties of an office administrator. The course participants will be introduced to the expected deliverables of such a role within a medium-sized organisation. The course will also introduce the student to the links between the different roles in different fields that such administrators are expected to have, such as the link between data protection and event management.
This programme helps participants to build their confidence and skills to best express their natural creativity and ideas through presentations and public speaking skills whilst assisting in the administration of the place of work through better communication as well as a better understanding of what it takes to have the safety of both employees and personal data at the centre of company practices and decisions.
What you'll learn
At the end of the study programme the participants be able to understand the basic principles of:
- A wide knowledge of the various regulations pertaining to employment law and the way in which they apply
- The impact of privacy legislation on the day-to-day running of the office
- Considerations to be taken to ascertain employees’ safety at the place of work
- Reading and understanding financial statements
- Interpreting and appropriately reacting to internal and external communications
- Managing an office
- Organising in and out of office events
The learner will be able to:
- Suggest best practices for attracting the best talent and employee retention in accordance with the law
- Recommend safe and secure practices with regard to the processing of personal data
- Identify health and safety issues
- Exercise best practices in bookkeeping
- Communicate effectively
- Assist management with the running of the office
- Support internal and external events organisation
Prerequisites
- Minimum of 5 O-Levels or 2 A-Levels or equivalent minimum of MQF Level 4 of Academic Qualification OR
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a business office environment

Mode Of Assessment
- In-Class Group Quiz after 5 sessions (20% weighting)
- Case Study project delivered after the last session (80% weighting). Students will have a choice of 3 questions to address 1 in around 2,500 words
