The Role
We are looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager – pharmaceuticals, OTC, food supplements and nutraceuticals to join our growing team. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the establishment of an efficient business unit as well as setting strategic goals for the future. The successful applicant shall be responsible for ensuring the profitability required to drive sustainable development and long-term success. 

The position requires a strong pharmaceutical commercial background and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within an extended team. Problem-solving skills, a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical OTC and food supplements / nutraceuticals sector, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel are essential in this role.  

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with prospective clients, and staying ahead of market trends. Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and identify potential clients in the target market, understanding their business needs and objectives. 
  • Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and client satisfaction. 
  • Leverage knowledge of market trends and sales techniques to present innovative, tailored solutions to potential clients and to inform ongoing business development and strategy. 
  • Negotiate and close business deals to drive sustained revenue growth and meet business goals. 
  • Territory management and key account management.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure client requirements are fully met, from initial engagement to deal closure. 
  • Involvement in the short-, medium-, and long-term strategies for the company.
  • Development of a digital marketing strategy. 
  • Preparation and control of forecasts, budgets, and other financials for this Business stream. 
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements and developments to ensure compliance. 

Required skills and experience 

  • Proven experience in business development, with a successful track record in driving new business and meeting sales targets.  
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Excellent customer experience and account management capabilities, with a focus on client retention.  
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue and growth objectives.

Preferred qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology or a related field.
  • Having a commercial background will be considered an asset.
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account management,  particularly within the pharmaceutical field, or related industries.  
  • Good verbal and written communication and motivational skills that will translate into healthy team leadership. 
  • Outstanding negotiation, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. 
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced,  dynamic environment.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as necessary.
