Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. To be predominantly based in our Mosta shop however not limited to Mosta shop only (we also have a store in Qormi). The position is full-time (40 hours per week including Saturdays). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean and orderly store. The candidate must be able to speak both Maltese and English fluently and work independently and closely with other staff members to ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with their purchases, providing product information and recommendations as required.
- Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise, ensuring all products are properly priced and labelled.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store.
- Receive, unpack, and price new merchandise.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Participate in training sessions and other professional development activities as required.
Qualifications and skills:
- The ability to speak fluently in both Maltese and English language is a must. Spoken & written English must be at an advanced level.
- Prior experience in a retail or customer service environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A flare for marketing and decoration to keep the shop always looking beautiful.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in retail or a related field is an asset.
- Relevant work experience in a retail or customer service environment.
