Role Description
The duties and responsibilities of the Officer-Draughtsperson (Civil), shall include, but not be limited, to the following:
- Understand and analyse architectural drawings and specifications;
- Proficient with Planning Authority procedures, policies and guidelines,
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and computer-aided design software;
- Design and produce drawings and other documentation for the submission of development applications, construction and refurbishment projects by using computer-aided design software;
- Site surveying for draughting of 2D drawings of existing buildings and structures;
- Site surveying for verification of conformity of existing buildings with approved permits;
- Drawing up budgetary estimates, drafting, finalizing and compiling specifications, preparing bills of quantities and presenting detailed estimated of works to be executed;
- Translate drawings into scale drawings;
- Make estimates of quantities and any calculations related to specific drawings;
- Perform quantity surveying and basic land surveying if need be;
- Preparation of Land Registry documents including marking of site plans;
- Participate in the design of new works and refurbishment works;
- Be part of Evaluation committees; and
- Carry out other related duties that may be assigned on occasion by their superiors.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Construction Engineering at MQF level 3 or equivalent and must be computer literate and proficient in the use of computer-aided design. Applicants must be capable of applying construction drawing standards and conventions to produce sketches and professional working drawings.
