In this position, your main responsibilities would include:

  • Legal support for the current activities of the Airline
  • Building / improving effective interaction between the legal team in Malta and other divisions of the group of companies
  • Assessing risks related to corporate activities and developing strategies to mitigate them
  • Registering of legal entities and changes related to their activities; making amendments to founding documents
  • Organizing and conducting participant meetings
  • Preparing necessary documents: founding documents, charters, resolutions of general meetings, Power of Attorney
  • Drafting internal documents (instructions, rules, regulations, orders, etc.)
  • Conducting KYC procedures
  • Legal review of contracts
  • Legal support of marketing activities
  • Legal support during inspections by regulatory authorities
  • Legal support of current labor issues
  • Legal support of current IP issues
  • Compliance with CAA and Consumer Authority’s requests and decisions
  • Supervision of timely preparation and forwarding of responses to the authorities
  • Communication with outside counsel regarding ongoing legal proceedings involving the Airline
  • Support of claims and litigation work, record keeping, and reporting regarding claims work
  • Monitoring changes in legislation and standards related to the company’s activity, providing legal consultations on the activities of the companies

We expect that our new team member has:

  • Law University degree
  • Work experience as a lawyer, legal adviser, team lead in a legal team for at least 5 years in the aviation or travel industry
  • Knowledge of labour law, legal tax, obligation law and legal writing is a must
  • Work experience as a lawyer in tourism or aviation is appreciated
  • Excellent communication skills, in Maltese and in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills strong cultural versatility and empathy
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation and regulation
