Job Description
We are currently seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team.
Role
Responsible for ensuring that the hotel, layout and machinery used run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes preventative maintenance, breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.
Reports to
Maintenance Manager and will liaise with all heads of departments as necessary
Scope of the role
Assist in leading the Maintenance department to provide both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Coordinate and follow the scheduling of planned works and oversee the adherence and timely completion of work being carried out. Increase the property operational effectiveness, improve project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction. Ensuring that health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Work closely with, and monitor jobs that are carried out by sub-contractors.
- Manage small projects with the team, including planning and following the work involved.
- Adhere to daily and weekly checks of the facility to ensure smooth operation.
- Assist the team on technical best practices.
- Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.
Educational and skill requirements
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- A Higher Technical Diploma (HTD) in a related technical field or equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a valid local electrical license A and B.
- Familiarity with HVAC, ELV systems, and hotel management systems like BMS and RMS.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in English.
