Job Description

Our Client, Lidl Malta is looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Operations Manager to lead and manage the sales operations across Malta and Gozo. This pivotal role involves overseeing District Managers, Store Managers, the Renovation Manager and the Secretariat. The successful candidate will ensure the implementation of the store concept, optimize processes and achieve specified targets. Additionally, this candidate will take responsibility for the professional growth and development of the team.

The Sales Operations Manager is directly subordinate to the Regional Director of the Regional Distribution Centre of Malta.

For this position, the successful candidate would need to complete a training period in Malta and possibly attend training in other European countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead employees in alignment with corporate principles and the leadership model;
  • Set objectives and delegate tasks, ensuring their completion and monitoring;
  • Maintain a positive and motivated work environment, promoting effective collaboration and fostering professional and personal growth among employees;
  • Conduct regular employee meetings, including goal-setting and feedback sessions;
  • Handle operational employee issues, including recruitment, contract approvals, and disciplinary actions;
  • Conduct regular meetings to set and review targets;
  • Perform frequent store visits to monitor and improve operations;
  • Participate in and prepare discussions for District Manager and Department Manager;
  • Support store refurbishments, new openings, and re-openings;
  • Implement and track sales area concepts, supporting process improvements and optimisation measures;
  • Develop and optimize procedures in the sales area and across departments within the Regional Distribution Centre;
  • Plan key figures and staffing structures for the sales area, considering targeted district configurations;
  • Continuously analyse key figures and apply measures to achieve sales area objectives; and,
  • Prepare and conduct regular performance reviews and key figure discussions.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience working in a senior management role with exposure in retail sales, supply chain or equivalent;
  • Proven track record in sales operations management;
  • Strong leadership and team development skills;
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning capabilities;
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment and drive team performance; and,
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language together with good communication skills in Maltese. Knowledge of the Italian language is preferred.
