About the Role
MFF Ltd is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the import and export of materials, finished products and waste, liaising with clients and agents, and ensuring smooth coordination of shipments, which may be by sea, air or road freight. This role is critical to our operations, involving both documentation and operational oversight to ensure compliance and efficiency across logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client and Agent Liaison
- Coordinate with suppliers / clients and agents to ensure the timely preparation of imports and exports.
- Manage import / export documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Container Loading Oversight
- Supervise the loading process for containers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Container Bookings
- Book containers with agents / carriers in alignment with shipment schedules and company requirements.
- Import Licensing and Documentation
- Prepare import licenses and verify documentation for imports.
- Prepare relevant documentation for exports.
- Groupage Shipments
- Handle logistics planning for groupage shipments to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Waste Packaging Reconciliation
- Reconcile waste packaging records for accurate reporting to authorities.
- Clearance with Maltese Authorities
- Coordinate and obtain import or export clearance with the relevant Maltese regulatory authorities, including the Department of Fisheries, Department of Veterinary Services, and Department of Customs.
- Customs Entries
- Prepare and submit customs entries in compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Air Freight Coordination
- Handle air freight operations with local clients and local agents, ensuring compliance and documentation submission for the cargo in question.
The selected candidate should also be open to accepting other tasks as directed by their manager and assisting with other projects being undertaken by MFF Ltd.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain coordination is essential.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be responsible in work and time management, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Knowledge of import / export regulations and customs processes, especially within the Maltese context, will be considered an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Computer literacy is essential, in particular, advanced MS Word and Excel skill
- Proficiency in logistics software and documentation tools is an asset.
- Must be in possession of a Maltese Driving licence.
- Prospective candidates should be in possession of a valid Maltese work permit.
