Bus Driving Instructor

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Training department: Bus Driving Instructor

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Implementing training programmes to educate trainees on bus driving techniques, traffic regulations, and to prepare them for all required testing in respect of B and D licences.


• Making use of lesson plans while delivering informative and engaging lessons both in class and in cab.


• Offering hands on training to students in a controlled environment, demonstrating bus handling techniques, and proper use of controls and safety procedures.


• Monitoring and assessing students’ progress and providing constructive feedback to improve their skills.


• Ensuring that students understand and follow local traffic regulations.


• Conducting evaluations to assess students’ ability to drive buses, handle passenger interactions as well as responding appropriately to unexpected situations.


• Promoting safety awareness and updating students on changes in regulations as well as adherence to Company policies.


• Maintaining accurate records of students such as training progress, training logs, attendance and all necessary records as deemed fit by the Company including the introduction to online training systems and its upgrade.


• Ensuring compliance by staying up to date with regulations set by local transport.


• Authorities and incorporating any new or revised regulations on both internal and external levels.


• Providing guidance, support and addressing any queries or concerns that students may have throughout their training while encouraging to build confidence and motivation for them to succeed in the bus driving industry.

Requirements:

• In possession of a D license for a minimum of 5 years.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.


• In-depth knowledge of traffic laws and bus operations.


• Demonstrated adaptability.


• Compliance skills.


• Strong oral communication abilities.


• Effective communication skills for teaching and interacting with students.


• Excellent observation and evaluation skills to assess students’ progress and identify areas of improvement.


• A driving instructor permit will be considered as an asset.


• First aid and fire fighting course.
