Job Description

Main Job Purpose
Responsible for technical drawings and site inspections within the Estate Management Directorate. Ensure that digital records are kept up to date and assist the Manager, Senior Manager, and Chief Officer on all service matters as well as other administrative duties related to the office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist in the coordination of projects, initiatives, and services provided by the Lands Authority and ensuring proper follow-up.
  • To ensure that programs are being implemented according to plan and to inform the superior in cases of issues in this regard.
  • Implement and monitor the policies, protocols, and procedures / processes of the Lands Authority.
  • Drawing up all technical and visual documents in relation to Lands Authority work undertakings.
  • Carrying out technical drawings by AutoCAD, any other computer-aided design applications or with traditional drafting method; and other basic skills such as interpretation, updating of drawings and computing basic arithmetical tasks.
  • Responsible for site inspections as necessary and preparing drawings in accordance with its findings.
  • Keeping records and assisting in organizing a digital library for all records and technical correspondence related to works undertaken by the Lands Authority and ensuring that such library is constantly kept up to date.
  • Printing of digital plans, maps and other documents using plotters or printers.
  • Track and administer the Section’s database.
  • Plans, controls, and supervises technical activities undertaken by the Directorate.
  • Day-to-day managing all ongoing works. A certain degree of flexibility is also required for the handling of any urgent work that may arise.
  • Ensures that jobs are carried out within the shortest of time frames and assures the best quality procedures at the same time.
  • Provides competent leadership to officers working within the section, secures their commitment and motivation, coordinates the proper setting up and leads the new subsections as required.
  • Undertakes any other tasks, which the superior may delegate to him / her, as may be required.
  • To keep an adequate stock of required items.
  • Coordinate with other Directorates and units involved as necessary.
  • Attend Committee meetings, take the respective minutes, and ensure follow-up actions.
  • To provide other general administrative support as required or requested.

Person Specification
The qualifications, experience, skills and other attributes required by the job holder:

  • In possession of O’ level qualifications (MQF level 3) in at least four (4) subjects, and two (2) years of relevant work experience. And / Or;
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience in a similar position.

Skills

  • Good knowledge of verbal and written communication in both Maltese and English is essential.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Thinks and acts strategically.
