Job Description

To assist the Lands Authority in Project planning to meet financial, time and quality targets. The goal is to provide architecture and civil engineering (Perit) services in relation to valuations, condition reports and all other matters as required by the Authority.

Main responsibilities:

  • Gathering information and liaising with different professionals (Architects, Legal Officers, Quantity Surveyors, Draughtsmen, etc) in the preparation of tender documents, material requirements and reports.
  • Coordinating with the different sections, departments, ministries and contractors in the planning, setting up and running of sites.
  • Liaising with different entities ensuring that the Project runs smoothly, to high quality standards and within the pre-defined program of works and budget.
  • Regularly updating and reporting on the project in hand, identifying areas of improvement.
  • To provide input into meetings organised between LA, applicants and their architects.
  • To technically assess applications / files in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • To review and provide recommendations to the CEO and Board of Governors.
  • Provide technical support in the implementation of the measures.
  • Coordinate the carrying out of assessments, studies and surveys to support the projects being undertaken by the Directorate.
  • Regularly updating and reporting on the project in hand, identifying areas of improvement.
  • Carrying out post-mortem at the termination of the Project reviewing the lessons and information on both the works itself and the management of that work.
  • Undertaking an official Project Leader role regarding infrastructural projects, including some, which might be co-financed by the EU.
  • To carry out routine daily tasks according to policies, procedures or instructions in relation to regulatory affairs of the Authority.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Authority.

Qualifications

  • Warranted Architect and Civil Engineer.

Experience

  • Having experience in a similar position will be considered an asset.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing land ownership in Malta and Gozo, shall be considered as an asset.
  • Verbal and written communication in both Maltese and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Thinks and acts strategically.
  • Takes ownership, actions and manage to meet deadlines.
