We are currently looking for an HVAC Technician to join our projects team and be part of our latest expansion and upcoming project in St. George’s Bay, Malta. An exceptionally designed and built destination that includes a 5* Hard Rock Hotel, luxury homes, renowned restaurants and an upscale shopping mall that is set to add tremendous value to the local area.
Overview
The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying and troubleshooting appliances. It also involves installing new equipment, repairing leaks, maintaining settings on wiring controls and replacing defective or old parts.
Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines and water coolers.
Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and equipment servicing.
Addresses and remediates indoor air quality (IAQ) concerns.
Log into the work order management system to find, accept and complete the work requests.
Carry out the installation of new equipment, perform repairs on leaks and ensure settings of wiring controls.
Change equipment parts that have become old or defective.
Collaborate with other maintenance workers, company’s management and staff to effectively provide solutions to maintenance problems.
Attend quickly to emergency calls on equipment repair issues, as well as to after-work hour calls.
Perform other duties the supervisor may assign.
Job Requirements
Outstanding soldering and brazing skills, applying oxygen/propane mix.
The ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, following manuals on operations and installations to complete tasks successfully.
To work on various types of equipment safely and efficiently.
To prioritize assigned tasks for increased job delivery.
Properly investigate problems with food equipment, discover the issue and correct it.
Use and monitor all HVAC control room operations.
Possess refrigerant transition and recovery certification.
Strong knowledge of basic electrical practice, theory and safety.
Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of commercial refrigeration practice and theory.
About You
Experience in a similar role.
Strong keyboarding and basic computer skills.
Knowledge of plumbing repair, installation practice and procedure.
The ability to quickly understand and carry out both written and oral instructions effectively.
Working independently without direct supervision and taking responsibility for the repair of assigned equipment.
Knowledge of HVAC codes and regulations.
