Job Description
Continental Cars Ltd specialises in automotive and has an opportunity for a High Voltage Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.
The High Voltage Motor Vehicle Technician specialises in diagnosing faults within the high voltage system of the vehicle and performing replacement of complete high voltage components, such as the high voltage battery, motor and power electronics. The HVT is also responsible for overseeing repairs being carried out on electric vehicles by non-HVTs.
Tasks
- Carry out de-energisation and re-energisation of the high voltage system and ensure that the high voltage system is truly disconnected.
- Carry out diagnosis on the high voltage system and its components.
- Carry out a replacement of high voltage components as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Carry out the classification of the high-voltage battery and ensure all documentation is correctly filled in.
- Document repairs and diagnosis performed on the job card.
- Perform repairs as per repair manuals and use the special tools required to safely conduct the repair.
- Perform diagnosis and repairs on systems fitted on a vehicle with an internal combustion engine.

Qualifications and experience
- Qualification as a Motor Vehicle Technician.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Computer literacy.
- Prior experience in an automotive environment is mandatory.
