We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the Head of Financial Accounting in various tasks and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in the day-to-day management of finance operations and team oversight.
  • Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist the Head of Financial Accounting in statutory compliance tasks, including VAT and NSO reporting.
  • Supervise and coordinate tasks related to the annual financial audit and the publication of the Group’s annual report and financial statements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives regarding the internal reporting framework.
  • Support the implementation of new processes and technologies to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist the CEO and Executive team in monitoring internal controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Ensure business operations align with financial objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team and Head of Financial Accounting on financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Head of Financial Accounting and the CEO on strategic financial and corporate matters.
  • Manage the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting framework, ensuring collaboration with various departments and the Company Secretary.
  • Oversee capital market-related reporting tasks in partnership with the Company Secretary and the CEO.
  • Support the CEO and Board in tasks related to investor relations and affairs.

Qualifications and Skills Required
The person we are looking for should have:

  • First degree in Accounting and CPA warrant.
  • 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software, and financial modelling (experience with SunSystems accounting software is an asset).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to produce clear and attractive financial reports.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines, work within a team, and work on own initiative.
  • Team management experience will be considered an asset, but not necessary.
  • Exposure to Maltese capital markets will be considered an asset, but not necessary.
