Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician / Handyperson to join our dynamic team. As a Maintenance Technician with AX Group, you will be responsible for performing routine electrical / plumbing preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Head of Department regarding the daily work orders and prioritize accordingly.
  • Perform routine checks / repairs of AX Group property / sites, as well as general electrical / extra low voltage repairs and replacements of any fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
  • Assist the Head of Department with all the M&E maintenance and preventive maintenance agreements, provided by contractors providing maintenance services such as lifts, fire alarms, intruder alarms, fire pumps, generators, and others.
  • Attend and investigate faults and breakdowns of building services, equipment, installations, appliances, etc. Liaise with the Head of Department to decide the best solution and best team representative to carry out the job.
  • Keep proper and timely records of all works carried out through electronic and hard copy means (filing of job sheets, team time sheets, and warranties).
  • Ensure complete safety at the location where works are being carried out, particularly during repairs and modifications execution of works on development sites.
  • Assure that all site electrical / plumbing installations / hording are kept safe and report damages (for the Technical team or third-party contractors to fix / repair) and if need be, contra charge.
  • List material expenses / expenditures for each maintenance job carried out.
  • Ensure that all requests are verified by the Maintenance department prior to execution.
  • Provide a weekly report at the end of the week on all work carried out and update the maintenance sheet every Friday.
  • Keep the provided tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in general good order.
  • Perform duties on an on-call basis, as directed by Head of Department when required.
  • Perform any further duties as may be required by the company from time to time.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and maintenance jobs.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English language.
  • Basic knowledge of standard computer tools.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Able to work independently and multi-task.
  • Have a hard-working attitude.
