About the Role
As our Health and Safety Specialist, you’ll be responsible for creating a safe and compliant work environment through the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and programs. Your role will be essential in helping us exceed industry safety standards, safeguarding everyone who interacts with our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies
    • Create and update policies to meet the latest local regulations and industry standards.
    • Clearly communicate and enforce safety guidelines across all departments.
  • Ensure Compliance
    • Stay informed about Maltese health and safety regulations.
    • Keep our team up-to-date on regulatory changes and emerging best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify and manage workplace hazards.
    • Implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Incident Investigation
    • Lead investigations of workplace incidents, documenting findings to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Education
    • Develop and deliver safety training programs, promoting a culture of safety and awareness.
    • Conduct safety inductions for new hires and collaborate with external training consultants.
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness
    • Create and maintain emergency response plans, coordinating regular drills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications:
    • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (MQRIC Level 5 or higher).
    • Strong knowledge of health and safety management practices and Maltese regulations.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Proven expertise in safety management and risk assessment.
    • Excellent English communication skills (Maltese proficiency is a plus).
    • Proficiency in safety software and strong record-keeping abilities.
    • Ability to influence and build a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • A proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
