Job Description

Are you a skilled Technician looking for the perfect balance between office-based tasks and hands-on fieldwork? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technician to join our team. This role offers a mix of customer-facing interactions, technical sales support, and on-site repair work, making it ideal for someone with a diverse skill set and a passion for the manufacturing industry.

Shop and Office Operations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers at our shop counter, providing technical advice and support.
  • Respond to sales inquiries received via email and assist customers with selecting the right products or services for their needs.
  • Handling cash and card payments, ensuring accurate billing, and managing refunds when necessary.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanour while addressing walk-in inquiries.

Technical Repairs and Field Support:

  • Assist the Head Field Technician with on-site repairs, installations, and servicing of machines and compressed air systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, ensuring effective and timely solutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Document processes by producing documentation/ Job sheets and service reports, as well as update the technical weekly planner on a daily basis with your tasks.
  • Follow Gantt charts and work plans by working within budget and scope and reporting to the Head Field Technician and C.O.O. daily with the development and progress of jobs and projects.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a background in technical support, maintenance, or machine repair.
  • Qualified: Hold an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Electronics / Manufacturing or a related technical field, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Additional Electrical License A and/or B would be considered an asset.
  • Technical expertise: Strong understanding of machinery and compressed air systems. Hands-on repair experience is a must.
  • Customer service: Excellent communication skills in both Maltese and English, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical customers.
  • Problem-solving: A proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving customer and machine issues.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to split time between office-based duties and on-site repairs as needed.
  • Team player: Capable of working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
