Job Description

AIM Enterprises Ltd has built a legacy of offering impeccable services and solutions to the automation industry spanning 20+ years. In line with our efforts to elevate our business and offer innovative solutions to our customers, we are now looking for a Technical Operations Manager to join our team.

Working closely with the CEO and COO, you will be responsible for the overall management of the technical and sales functions at AIM Enterprises. Taking charge of a critical function within the orgnisation, you will spearhead its development and ensure operational success.

As a newly developed role at AIM Enterprises you will be:

  • Managing jobs and technical staff by creating work plans, procuring materials needed, overseeing the handling of local and foreign supply of materials, going on site and assessing work progress, holding daily technical briefings, and working within budget, scope and set deadlines
  • Analysing previous sales, market protentional and supplier demands to prepare for business development meetings with the CEO and Automation Sales Specialist
  • Suggesting improvements for process optimization and continuous improvement
  • Motivating the respective team to offer exceptional service through accurate delegation and people management
  • Responsible for employee development within the respective Technical and Sales teams
  • Establishing and converting customer requirements into product and design specifications
  • Proposing innovative solutions and generating Technical Offers based on Gantt charts, profitability, and material availability
  • Overseeing sales pitches and presentations based on agreed strategies, while supporting in client meetings if necessary
  • Supporting the Technical team with designing, programming and installation of automation solutions
  • Leading the Sales team through the sales process and supporting where necessary
  • Updating the technical planner with the development of jobs and projects and reporting to the CEO
  • Providing periodic reports and strategies to the CEO in line with the Company’s direction and business plan
  • Working together with the COO to ensure cohesion between all departments

To fit within this role at AIM Enterprises, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of leading high-performing teams
  • Sound technical knowledge in automation engineering, familiar with the standards of IEC 61131-3 and proficient in Ladder diagram and SCL
  • Proficiency in auto-cad
  • Experienced in working with inverters and servo drives
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with an assertive yet positive attitude
  • Highly organised, self-driven and takes ownership of the role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Maltese and English
  • Driving license category B

This role calls for a candidate with strong leadership abilities who is accustomed to working with senior management on strategy development and business growth. Due to the nature of our organisation, candidates must be willing to be hands-on and support across all levels of the organisation.
