Mekanika is a leading operator in the building and engineering services industry, specialising in mechanical and electrical contracting, BMS, ELVs, HVAC solutions, lifts and escalators, industrial products and facilities management. Due to further expansion, the above-mentioned career opportunity has now arisen.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Mechatronics Technician with a strong background in mechanical engineering, electronics and PLC’s, working closely with other engineers and departments to deliver innovative solutions that integrate mechanical, electronic and software components.
The role will involve the entire lifecycle, from initial concept through production, maintenance and repairs that may arise from time to time. You will be expected to stay up to date with the latest advancements in mechatronics and apply this knowledge to improve our products and processes. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to manage different situations simultaneously. The selected candidate will essentially:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and during the lifetime of the equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members.
- Participate in training when and as required.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with suppliers for technical support as required.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
- Assist in the development of new product concepts and ideas.
Qualifications and requirements needed:
- MQF level 5 in Mechatronics Engineering.
- Proven experience in mechatronics or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and software principles.
- Experience with simulation and testing tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with PLC and logic controllers.
- Understanding of control systems and automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Willingness to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for training requirements.
