The Barista is tasked with skilfully preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to customers, aiming to deliver exceptional positive experiences at The NEU Collective.
Responsibilities:
Extend a warm and courteous welcome to guests upon their arrival.
- Prepare and present a diverse range of coffee and espresso beverages in accordance with established quality guidelines.
- Safely and efficiently operate coffee-making equipment, including coffee machines and grinders.
- Offer knowledgeable and attentive service to patrons, addressing inquiries and providing recommendations as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the coffee preparation area by sanitizing surfaces, cleaning equipment and utensils, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Regularly monitor and replenish inventory of coffee beans, syrups, and other essential supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage protocols.
- Professionally address and resolve customer complaints or issues, escalating matters to management when necessary.
- Maintain strict adherence to company policies and procedures, including compliance with dress code standards and punctuality requirements.
The potential candidate will ideally possess the following skills and qualities:
- Previous experience as a barista is a must.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and serving beverages.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food handling certificate.
