Job Description

We are currently recruiting for the position of Accounts Officer in our Shipyard located in Malta.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Updating and posting accounting entries in the computerised system;
  • Keeping an organised filing system, both physical and on the network;
  • Performing cash reconciliations;
  • Performing credit control duties including chasing of debtors;
  • Coding all invoices and credit notes, both sales and purchases;
  • Preparing the monthly suppliers’ payments list;
  • Maintaining all ledgers within the accounting system;
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers;
  • Assisting in compiling management accounts and other relevant financial information up to the trial balance stage;
  • Updating all relevant Excel sheets and creating new ones when required;
  • Supervising and leading the Accounts Assistant in order for the latter to be effective and efficient in her / his role;
  • Ensuring that the Accounts Assistant meets deadlines and has enough workload;
  • Maintaining the petty cash imprest system;
  • Preparing accruals and prepayments lists;
  • Carrying out any other ad hoc tasks (including administrative support) as may be required from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in English;
  • Degree in Accounts or Finance;
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Experience will be considered as an asset.
