The Senior Legal Counsel provides comprehensive legal support to teams across the company, ensuring compliance with Maltese and EU financial regulations. Responsibilities include contract management, management of legal disputes, as well as assistance to team members on legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support and advice while ensuring compliance with Maltese and EU financial regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, NDAs, T&C’s.
  • Providing day-to-day legal support and training to different teams within the company.
  • Handling of disputes and complaints that arise from time to time including attending court sittings and the preparation of judicial acts as the need arises.
  • Assisting the teams with contractual needs (suppliers and product offerings).
  • Manage legal disputes and collaborate with external counsel.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s preferred.
  • A warrant to practice at the Maltese Courts of Justice shall be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience ideally within the financial / payments space.
  • Knowledge of Maltese and EU financial regulations is considered an asset.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
