Job Description

The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for accurately reconciling cash transactions and sales records to ensure the integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical and organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires proficiency in financial software and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Verify cash amounts collected from various sources, such as cash registers, payment terminals, and petty cash funds
  • Match sales records with corresponding cash transactions to ensure consistency and identify any discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between cash amounts and sales records in a timely manner
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of cash transactions and reconciliation activities
  • Assist in preparing regular financial reports related to cash and sales transactions
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as the Finance team and venue managers, to address any cash or sales-related issues
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for cash handling and reconciliation
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to security protocols
  • Assist with general accounting tasks as assigned by the Direct Manager

Qualifications and Assets:

  • Diploma or equivalent; additional certification or coursework in accounting is a plus
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Clerk or similar role, with a focus on cash and sales reconciliation
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools, such as spreadsheets and accounting software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies and errors
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information
