Job Description

With the recent addition of METS, Medserv has added premium threading, inspection and repair services for oil country tubular goods (OCTG) to the portfolio of engineering services.

Medserv is currently looking to recruit a Lead Mechanic to strengthen further its growing operations.

Overview of the role:
  • Train, monitor and inspect work of other mechanics and service personnel for accuracy and compliance to established standards.
  • Inspect and determine worthiness of vehicles and equipment prior to purchase and make recommendations to management. 
  • Inspect, diagnose, overhaul, adjust and repair electric and diesel-powered generators and compressors.
  • Arrange for delivery / pickup of district vehicles (mechanical failure, broken down, or new purchase).
  • Continuous up-keep of inventory of all vehicle parts and maintain information in appropriate company software filing system. 
  • Approve purchase of equipment and tools within budgeted amounts items that are not required for a specific vehicle.
  • Perform general overhaul, installation, repair, replacement and adjustment of bearings, ignitions, carburettors, transmissions, differentials, axles, steering mechanisms, drive shafts, fenders, radiators and front end and rear suspension systems.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the team leader and / or technical manager.

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • Fully certified automotive mechanic.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of written and spoken Maltese and English.
  • Good diagnostic skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Up-to-date with technology.
  • Clean driving licence.
